March 9 (Reuters) - Guard Dion Waiters left the Oklahoma City Thunder to be with his family after learning his younger brother was killed in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Waiters was not with the team for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers as he mourned the death of his brother. According to reports, Waiters' brother was one of six people killed on Tuesday in three separate acts of violence. No arrests have been made. --- The Cleveland Cavaliers signed guard Jordan McRae to a multi-year contract. McRae, 24, has appeared in three games for the Cavs this season, averaging 4.3 points in 4.7 minutes per game. He was signed to a 10-day contract on Feb. 28. --- The Washington Wizards signed guard Marcus Thornton and waived guard Gary Neal, the team announced. Last month, Thornton was waived by the Houston Rockets four days after a trade that sent him to the Detroit Pistons was rescinded. Thornton averaged 10 points in 47 games this season for Houston.
