Trail Blazers interview agent for GM job

The Portland Trail Blazers have interviewed agent Noah Croom for the franchise's vacant general manager’s job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Croom has met with Blazers officials at least once in Portland, sources said.

Before joining the Goodwin Sports agency, Croom was an assistant general manager from 1995-2000 with the Vancouver and Memphis Grizzlies. He was a candidate for several front-office jobs in recent years, but chose to stay as an agent.

Blazers president Larry Miller recently told the Oregonian he had begun interviewing candidates again for the job that's been open since the back-to-back firings of former GMs Kevin Pritchard and Rich Cho, who was let go after last season. Chad Buchanan has served as an interim GM for Portland.

The candidacy of Croom comes after the Phoenix Suns (Lon Babby) and Golden State Warriors (Bob Myers) hired agents in high-profile personnel jobs. Croom also has a law degree from the University of Virginia. He did his undergraduate work at Stanford.
