Source: Lakers' Jordan Hill will be back in lineup to face Clippers this week

LOS ANGELES – After sitting out two weeks to rehabilitate a herniated disc in his back, Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill will return to the lineup against the Los Angeles Clippers, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Hill is expected to play Wednesday against the Clippers, and likely again in the final preseason game on Thursday against Sacramento in preparation for opening night on Oct. 30 against Dallas.

Hill, 25, underwent core strength training on his back to rehabilitate the injury suffered in an Oct. 7 preseason game against Golden State in Fresno, Calif.

Hill signed a two-year, nearly $8 million contract extension with the Lakers over the summer. Hill had impressed teammates and coaches in the preseason with his fitness and explosion, and will be a vital part of the Lakers' second unit. Hill came to the Lakers in February as part of a deal that sent Derek Fisher to the Houston Rockets. He averaged five points and 4.8 rebounds for the Lakers and Rockets a season ago.
