MLB: Twins recall OF Carson

The Minnesota Twins recalled outfielder Matt Carson was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Carson played in five games with the Twins -- all in August -- and hit .381 (8 for 21) with a double and drove in one run before being optioned to Rochester on August 23.

With Rochester this season, Carson appeared in 115 games hitting .282 with 28 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 53 RBI and 64 runs scored.

Carson was acquired by the Twins in November, signing as a minor league free agent. He played for the Oakland Athletics in 2010 and '11.
