MLB roundup: Brewers Hart out for the season
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart, who has not played a game for the Brewers this season, will undergo surgery on his left knee and is out for the season, according to a tweet from Joe Block, the Brewers play-by-play radio announcer.
It had been problems with his right knee that had kept Hart out until now. But it is trouble with the left knee that will end his season.
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said on Friday that Hart's season is over, according to Block.
Last season, Hart hit .270 with 30 homers for the Brewers,
---Mark Prior, whose latest comeback attempt involved working as a reliever at Triple-A, was released by the Cincinnati Reds.
He had been on the disabled list with a shoulder injury since late April.
Prior, 32, had 47 strikeouts in 35 innings at Triple-A, but had a 4.15 ERA.
He has not pitched in the majors since 2006.

Chicago's Landmarks Commission voted Thursday night in favor of moving back the outfield walls and other upgrades to the aging ballpark, according to the Chicago Tribune.
However, the commission put off voting for the most controversial aspects of the renovation until next month as Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Ald. Tom Tunney continue negotiating over the proposal of two giant signs in the outfield bleachers.
---Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko had an MRI on his ailing back, and the team announced Konerko also received six injections and will continue treatment.
If Konerko is not healthy enough to play by Sunday, he may go on the disabled list.
Konerko, 37, is batting .253 with seven home runs in 66 games.
---The Cleveland Indians recalled right-handed pitchers Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco from Class AAA Columbus and optioned left-hander Nick Hagadone to Columbus on Friday, the club announced.
Bauer was scheduled to start the first game of a doubleheader Friday against the host Chicago White Sox. Bauer is 1-2 with a 2.76 ERA in three starts for Cleveland this year.
