Mavericks, GM part ways after 3 months

The Dallas Mavericks and general manager Gersson Rosas parted ways Tuesday after just three months and one day before the Mavs' season opener.

ESPN.com reported that the Mavericks and Rosas parted company on the eve of Dallas' season opener against Atlanta. Rosas, 35, was hired away in July from the Rockets' front office.

The reasons for the abrupt parting are not immediately known.
