LSU has suspended redshirt freshman offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell after he was arrested in Atlanta over the weekend.

Campbell was arrested with Georgia Tech safety Jalen Johnson in connection with an alleged incident at a Georgia Tech fraternity house Sunday morning. LSU was off over the weekend and Campbell’s brother plays at Georgia Tech.

According to an arrest report obtained by the Baton Rouge Advocate, two students said they were punched “in the face and head” by two men.

While Campbell has been suspended from his team, Johnson hasn’t been suspended by Georgia Tech (yet). Campbell was charged with two counts of battery while Johnson is facing a charge of simple battery.

“I think I would urge everybody to let all the facts come in and let the investigation unfold and then we’ll make an appropriate statement and an appropriate action,” Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said Monday via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “But guys are innocent until proven guilty. Just because it happened doesn’t mean they’re always guilty, so let’s let the facts play out.”

Jalen Johnson has five tackles in eight games for Georgia Tech, while Campbell has appeared in three games for LSU. The Yellow Jackets play North Carolina on Saturday while LSU plays Alabama.
