Lehigh 76, Sacred Heart 64

Lehigh won for the third time this season with a convincing 76-64 victory over visiting Sacred Heart on Sunday at Lehigh's Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa.

The Mountain Hawks improved to 3-5 overall, while Sacred Heart fell to 1-6. Both teams were struggling entering the game. Lehigh had lost four of its previous five games, while Sacred Heart dropped five of its first six.

Sacred Heart tied the game once, 2-2 on an Evan Kelley layup.

But Lehigh bolted out to an 11-2 lead as the Mountain Hawks scored the next nine points to take early command of the game. Lehigh sophomore forward Jesse Chuku started hot, scoring seven of Lehigh's first 11 points on 3-for-3 shooting.

Chuku led all scorers with 26 points on 11-for-16 shooting.

Junior guard Steve Glowiak led the Pioneers with 17 points.

The Mountain Hawks took a 48-27 lead into halftime. By intermission, Chuku had 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting.

With 15:40 to play in the game, Lehigh built up 60-33 on a Shane Whitfield layup.
