Kings' Cousins suspended one game

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended one game without pay for hitting Dallas Mavericks guard O.J. Mayo in the groin, the NBA announced Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of Sacramento's 119-96 loss to the Mavericks on Monday.

Cousins served his suspension Wednesday when the Kings played the Milwaukee Bucks.

"In slow motion it looks like I did on purpose," Cousins told the Sacramento Bee. "But you look in real speed, you see what happened. Of course it's gonna get thrown out there that I did it on purpose."

This is Cousins' second suspension this season. Last month, he was suspended two games for confronting San Antonio television analyst Sean Elliot after a game.
