Jets Pick Up 37-24 Win Over Dolphins
Geno Smith had a huge day throwing the ball, paving the way to a solid win for the Jets against the Dolphins, 37-24, at Sun Life Stadium.
Smith lit up the Dolphins for three scores on 20 of 25 passing for 358 yards and one fumble. In comparison, Ryan Tannehill did not have as good a day for the Dolphins, going 23 of 39 with 259 yards passing, one touchdown and one fumble.
Chris Ivory rushed for 29 yards on 13 attempts while adding one reception for 8 yards and a score. Eric Decker was a highlight, pulling in 10 passes for 221 yards with a touchdown.
The New York defense allowed 179 yards rushing and 259 passing. They harassed Tannehill and the Dolphins offensive line with an imposing seven sacks.
Dolphins running back Lamar Miller had a big day with 178 yards rushing and one touchdown. Tight end Charles Clay also had a noteworthy performance with 45 receiving yards and one touchdown.
