Janikowski: Not rooting against A's
Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski denied telling Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee that he is rooting for the Oakland A's to miss the playoffs so the infield at O.co Coliseum will be sodded over sooner.
Janikowski told the San Francisco Chronicle on Thursday that Scobee is lying and that he regularly attends A's games as a fan.
The Raiders share the stadium with the A's.
"Whatever he says just blows my mind," Janikowski said. "That didn't happen. Hell no. I just want to let you know. ... I kicked 14 years on it, it really doesn't bother me."
Scobee made the comment to the Florida Times-Union. He said that he is preparing for Sunday's game against the Raiders in Oakland by practicing at a baseball field to simulate the conditions of O.co Coliseum.
