Jaguars sign LB Jones, cut WR Armstrong

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed linebacker Greg Jones and released wide receiver Anthony Armstrong on Monday, the team announced.

Jones, a sixth-round draft choice of the New York Giants in 2011, played in all 16 regular season games his rookie year, including five starts. The team cut him in August.

He was a unanimous first-team All-America selection his senior season at Michigan State, leading the Spartans with 106 tackles.

Armstrong, a third-year pro out of West Texas A&M, only has three catches for 12 yards in five games this season.
