INF Garcia added in Rios deal

Infielder Leury Garcia was officially added in the deal that sent outfielder Alex Rios from the Chicago White Sox to the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers traded Rio to the White Sox on Friday for a player to be named later. Garcia officially became that player on Sunday, the White Sox announced.

Garcia, 22, has 25 games of major-league experience. He batted .264 with a .314 on-base percentage, eight doubles, four triples, four home runs and 12 stolen bases in 47 games for Class AAA Round Rock this year.

He mostly plays shortstop but has played some second base and nine games in the outfield.

The White Sox already have a starting shortstop in Alexei Ramirez, who is signed through the 2015 season with a club option for 2016.
