He's back! Jordy Nelson catches TD in return from ACL surgery

The last time Jordy Nelson played in a game that counted was the end of the 2014 season. The Green Bay Packers missed him last year.

It didn’t take long for Nelson to get comfortable, even though he didn’t play at all in the preseason. In his first game back from a torn ACL, Aaron Rodgers hit Nelson for a 6-yard touchdown to take the lead in the second quarter at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It did take Nelson a little while to get back in the flow of the game. He didn’t have a catch in the first quarter. The second quarter was different. The Packers called a short pass to Nelson to get him on the stat sheet. He caught another one two plays later, and on the next play Nelson ended the drive with a touchdown, after Rodgers scrambled around until he found Nelson in the end zone.

The Packers offense suffered without Nelson all last season, with the passing game often bogged down with no deep threat. Nelson caused some nervous moments in training camp when he suffered from tendinitis in his left knee (he tore the ACL in his right), but the Packers’ No. 1 receiver was back on the field for Week 1.

And, as usual, he was back to catching touchdowns from Rodgers.
