Harbaugh not interested in Texas job

Two sources said this week that San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh has no intention of pursuing a college job, taking him out of the running for the University of Texas job that officially opening Saturday night when Mack Brown resigned.

Harbaugh was offered the job at Michigan, his alma mater, at one point when he was at Stanford, but his intention was always to be in the NFL as a head coach.

It was reported earlier this week that Harbaugh would be on a short list of candidates for Texas if the school did not get Nick Saban. On Friday, Saban agreed to a new contract with Alabama that will reportedly pay him between $7 and $7.5 billion.
