Guillen quits Twitter

Ozzie Guillen, the Miami Marlins' motor-mouth manager, says he is done using Twitter.

"I hate Twitter," said Guillen, who has 230,926 followers to @OzzieGuillen.

Earlier Thursday, Guillen sent his final tweet: "my last tweet. me ultimo tweet good luck buena suerte."

He said he is tired of people on the social-media network taking shots at him. He didn't say if one incident spurred him to quit.

"People out there are nasty, nasty. I don't need that. I don't need the aggravation. So many nasty people. They don't have nothing better to do," he said. "I'm not Kim Kardashian. I don't sell anything in my life to have Twitter."

Guillen, known for being outspoken, has stayed under the radar since his five-game suspension last month for comments he made in Time magazine about Fidel Castro. He started tweeting again about a week ago.

Last year, Guillen was suspended for two games for tweeting from the clubhouse after being ejected from a game against the Yankees.

He would have had little positive to tweet about following Thursday night's game. Atlanta Braves right-hander Brandon Beachy threw a five-hitter in a 7-0 win over the Marlins.
