Grizzlies let Hollins talk to other teams
The Memphis Grizzlies have given head coach Lionel Hollins permission to speak to other teams about their head coaching vacancies after contract discussions between the Grizzlies and Hollins stalled, ESPN.com reported Sunday.
According to the report, the talks with Hollins reached an an impasse because of what one source said was "major philosophical differences."
Hollins' contract with the Grizzlies expires at the end of June.
Both he and the team had said earlier they hoped Hollins would return as Memphis' coach next season. But contract talks have not been productive so far.
The Grizzlies got to the Western Conference finals this season, before being swept by the San Antonio Spurs.
The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers have interest in Hollins, but ESPN.com reported that no team has formally requested permission to speak to Hollins yet.
