Good? No good? Refs disagree on Eagles' field-goal try

A good reminder that it’s Week 1 for everyone.

Yes, even with four preseason games, almost anyone involved in NFL games — referees included — can be a little rusty at the start of the season.

Check out what happened when Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis attempted a field goal against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The referee on the right side of your screen was correct: The 46-yard kick was no good.

What a strange start to the season, too for Sturgis — a man who was knocked out by an errant punt during pregame warmups in the preseason.

But the split-decision call was quite amusing. And it reminds us, of course, of this replacement-ref hilarity of yore:
