Giants QB Manning (ankle) out vs. Redskins

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw two interceptions in the first half and was ruled out for the game at the outset of the third quarter because of an ankle injury.

He was not on the field with the Giants on their first possession of the third quarter, and the team officially announced his status a few minutes later.

Manning, who leads the NFL with 27 interceptions, walked to the locker room with a noticeable limp after being intercepted by Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Wilson.

Manning walked straight to the locker room. Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (ankle) already had left the rain-soaked playing field at MetLife Stadium and will not return.

Manning found Jerrel Jernigan for a touchdown that helped the Giants claim a 10-6 lead at halftime.
