Two Florida freshmen ran into some trouble over the weekend.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, receivers Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells were arrested Sunday in an alleged dorm room incident involving BB guns. The two are accused of causing in excess of $1,000 in damage to Keys Residential housing on campus.

Both players have been charged with “criminal mischief for damaging property of more than $1,000” and “shooting a missile inside an occupied dwelling.” Both charges are felonies.

From the Sentinel:

A UF Police Department report said an officer was sent to Keys Residential at 11:30 p.m. Sunday and observed three windows had been shattered and had a small, round hole in each. Video surveillance revealed two males shooting at someone at around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

The officer identified the men with their ID cards to be Cleveland and Wells. Wells admitted his wrongdoing to the officer and turned over the BB gun. The two players then were arrested and booked at 3:38 a.m.

Cleveland and Wells, both 18, were four-star prospects in the Gators’ 2016 recruiting class and recently enrolled at Florida. The two grew up together in Jacksonville, Fla., until Cleveland’s family moved to Texas when they were in the eighth grade. The two friends reunited as members of the Gators’ 14th-ranked recruiting class.
