Fever 84, Sky 70

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Sky may be off to their best start ever, but they still can't beat the Fever.

Four players scored in double figures as Indiana (5-3) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 84-70 victory over the Sky at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Sylvia Fowles scored a game-high 25 points, Swin Cash had 15 and Courtney Vandersloot added 12 as the Sky (8-2) saw their six-game winning streak snapped while losing for the second time this season to the Fever. They also dropped an 83-72 decision in a May 25 home opener.

Jessica Davenport paced Indiana with 19 points, Katie Douglas had 15 while Briann January and Tamika Catchings had 14 and 12 points, respectively.

The Sky led 28-20 after one quarter and maintained the edge through much of the second. But they suddenly went cold while the Fever launched a 13-1 run over the final 5:28 to claim a 42-28 lead by halftime.

The Sky briefly reclaimed the lead at 49-46 in the third after a 3-pointer by Courtney Vandersloot and a free throw by Fowles.

But Indiana bounced back down the stretch with four January free throws and a Zellous jumper and free throw to open a 64-59 edge entering the final 10 minutes.

By the middle of the fourth quarter, the Fever had opened a double-digit lead.

The Sky travel to unbeaten Minnesota next Saturday.
