Ellsbury sits out with groin injury

One day after stealing five bases, Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury was removed from the starting lineup for Friday's game against the New York Yankees because of groin tightness.

According to the Providence Journal, Ellsbury first noticed the problem on his fifth stolen base Thursday. He is listed as day to day.

Ellsbury is hitting .268 with one homer and 21 steals.
