Eagles Outshoot Redskins, 37-34
The Washington defense had no answer for Nick Foles as he led the way to a narrow victory for the Eagles over the Redskins, 37-34, at home.
Foles lit up the Redskins for three scores on 28 of 42 passing for 325 yards and no interceptions. Kirk Cousins did his best to keep the Redskins competitive, going 30 of 48 with 427 yards passing, three touchdowns and one pick.
Darren Sproles carried the ball two times for 20 yards while adding three receptions for 30 yards with one fumble. Jeremy Maclin was a highlight, pulling in eight balls for 154 yards with a touchdown.
The Philadelphia defense managed to keep the running game in check, but could not slow down the aerial attack, giving up 427 yards passing and 84 rushing.
Lastly, Cody Parkey was perfect, hitting all three of the field goals he attempted.
Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon provided some spark with 138 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson also had a noteworthy performance with 117 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Eagles travel to Santa Clara next week to meet the 49ers (1-1) while the Redskins are at home to take on the Giants (1-2).
