Dustin Ackley out of lineup Saturday
Mariners outfielder Dustin Ackley is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the A's.
Ackley has been battling bone spurs in his ankle, and manager Lloyd McClendon wanted to give him a day of rest after he went 0 for 3 in his return to the lineup Friday. Ackley has hit .249/.298/.396 with 11 home runs, 60 RBI and eight stolen bases in 457 at-bats. The outfielder will be evaluated day by day to see if the ankle is well enough for Ackley to play, MLB.com reports.
