Ducks 4, Blue Jackets 3
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Cory Perry's unassisted goal with only 2:15 remaining gave the road-weary Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets in Nationwide Arena.
Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout tried to pass the puck behind his net to partner Jack Johnson, but he played the carom too tight, sending the puck off Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and into the slot, where Perry loomed.
Perry, showing the patience of a goal scorer, carried the puck wide of the net until Bobrovsky committed. Then he fired into an empty net, the Ducks' third and final lead of the night.
Peter Holland, Ryan Getzlaf and Emerson Etem also scored for the Ducks, who are four games deep on a season-long eight-game road trip.
Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen won his second straight start with 18 saves.
Artem Anisimov scored twice for the Blue Jackets, and Blake Comeau also scored. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky overcame a poor goal in the second period to finish with 28 saves.
The Blue Jackets had won three straight.
The game took a dramatic turn with 34.8 seconds remaining in the second period, when Dubinsky -- the Blue Jackets' emotional spark plug -- leveled Koivu just after he carried the puck across the red line and passed it.
Dubinsky did not leave his skates, but appeared on replay to thrust upward and slam his right shoulder into Koivu's right shoulder and then his head. Koivu fell to the ice, before leaving a few seconds later with the help of two teammates.
Dubinsky was assessed a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct for the hit.
The Ducks, who came into the game with the worst power play in the league, scored only once during the five minutes.
It was Etem's goal at 1:51 of the third period, scored from the low slot after a Teemu Selanne shot was stopped by Bobrovsky. That gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead.
The Blue Jackets tied it up again at 8:24 of the third when a James Wisniewski shot glanced off Anisimov before it beat Andersen.
Anaheim took a 2-1 lead at 7:59 of the second period when Holland floated an innocent-looking shot from the goal line. Bobrovsky was not ready for it, though, and the puck snuck between him and the post.
The Blue Jackets pulled to 2-2 later in the period on their second short-handed goal in as many games. Dubinsky sprung Anisimov on a breakaway and he beat Andersen off his backhand at 12:12 of the second.
