The New Orleans Saints are once again struggling to stop opponents while Drew Brees’ unit makes scoring seem so easy. Even though this is a 4-6 team that likely won’t make the playoffs, Brees has been the exact definition of an MVP.

Mailbag: What’s next for Romo?

3,277 yards, an incredible 71 completion percentage, 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions sounds remarkable to me.

If it weren’t for an awful defense, Brees’ Saints would easily be winning the NFC South. Look at the games New Orleans has lost, and yet this man has 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in the Saints’ six losses.

You may think Dak Prescott or Ezekiel Elliot deserve to be MVP. They’ve beaten one team with a winning record. That offensive line made Tony Romo a possible Hall of Famer. Jason Witten and Dez Bryant also provide nice weapons, too.

Tom Brady looks great, but he’s yet to beat a winning team with his return. Didn’t the Patriots go 3-1 with their second and third quarterbacks? Too bad head coach Bill Belichick can’t win the MVP.

Russell Wilson is another option, but the Seattle Seahawks defense is carrying that team just as much, if not more. Derek Carr may be another option on the Oakland Raiders, but having a solid defense is sure helping him out.

The Saints would be winless without Brees, who has quietly been this season’s most dominant quarterback. If the MVP is to be given to the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, Brees has made his case.

Too bad he won’t win it, though.
