Dodgers 6, Diamondbacks 1

PHOENIX -- Zack Greinke pitched seven shutout innings and Hanley Ramirez extended his career-high hitting streak to 19 games and drove in a run and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Arizona 6-1 on Monday.

Greinke, who was hit by a pitch to trigger a benches-clearing brawl when the teams played June 11 in Los Angeles, gave up two hits and struck out seven. Greinke (7-2) added a career-high three hits and scored once.

Los Angeles (44-46) has won eight of its last 10 and 13 of its last 16 to move within 2 1/2 games of the NL West-leading Diamondbacks (47-42), who had a season-long five-game winning streak broken.

Ramirez had three of the Dodgers' 17 hits and scored a run. He is hitting .486 during his hitting streak.

Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig had two hits to keep his batting average at .409, and had the 17th multiple-hit game in his first 33 in the majors.

Andre Ethier also had three hits, and he drove in a run with the Dodgers' only extra-base hit, a double in the seventh inning. Adrian Gonzalez and Juan Uribe had two hits and an RBI, and Gonzalez scored twice.

Paul Goldschmidt had two of the Diamondbacks' three hits, singles in the fourth and ninth innings, and he scored on Eric Chavez's two-out double in the ninth. The Diamondbacks have been shut out a major league-low once this season.

Ramirez and Andre Ethier hit back-to-back singles with one out in the fourth inning, and Juan Uribe hit a two-out single to center to drive in Ramirez, breaking a scoreless tie.

Adrian Gonzalez and Ramirez singled in runs in the fifth, after Greinke and Puig had singled off Arizona starter Randall Delgado, who gave up 11 singles in his six innings.

The D-backs did not have their first hit off Greinke until Goldschmidt's fourth-inning single, but he was erased on a double play.
