Diamondbacks' Ross suffers dislocated hip

PHOENIX - Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross left Sunday's game against the New York Mets with a dislocated right hip.

Ross stumbled three steps ahead of the first-base bag while running out a grounder to third and fell face first just as he crossed the base. Mets first baseman Ike Davis motioned for trainers to come out, and Ross, after rolling onto his back, did the same.

Ross remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off the field, holding the back of his right leg just above the knee.

Ross is hitting .278 with eight homers and 38 RBIs in 94 games for Arizona.
