Diamondbacks 6, Rockies 1

PHOENIX -- Paul Goldschmidt doubled in a run to extend his National League RBI lead and Patrick Corbin won his 10th game of the season on his seventh attempt as Arizona completed a three-game sweep of Colorado with a 6-1 victory Sunday at Chase Field.

Goldschmidt, who has 74 RBIs, drove in Aaron Hill to cap a three-run rally in the third inning for a 4-0 lead. It was one of the D-backs' five doubles, and one of their 16 extra-base hits in the series.

Corbin, the first pitcher in the majors to get to nine wins when he beat the Cubs on June 2, gave up three hits in eight innings and struck out 10, tying a career high.

Colorado shortstop Jonathan Herrera ended the shutout with a one-out home run off Corbin (10-1) in the eighth inning, his first homer of the year.

Arizona (47-41) won its fifth straight game and maintained a 41/2-game lead in the NL West.

The Rockies (42-47) have lost five of their last six. They scored two runs and had 12 hits in the series after entering 21/2 games behind the D-backs.

Carlos Gonzalez singled in the first inning and had five of the Rockies' hits in the series. He left in the ninth inning with an apparent finger injury that occurred on the first pitch of his at-bat.

Hill had two doubles, driving in the first two runs of the third inning, and scored twice.

Eric Chavez doubled and scored in the second inning, and Corbin doubled in a run in the sixth inning.

Colorado starter Roy Oswalt (0-4) left the game with a left hamstring injury suffered when his left foot skidded on home plate while he covered on a wild pitch that allowed Chavez to score for a 1-0 lead with two outs in the second.
