Are D-backs going to make a habit of comebacks again?

Here they come (back) again.

The Arizona Diamondbacks built their reputation as a 27-out team with a major league-high 48 come-from behind victories while winning the NL West in 2011, and it took them only three games this season to reinforce that behavior.

The D-backs tied a franchise record by overcoming a six-run deficit in a 7-6 victory over San Francisco on Sunday, finishing a three-game sweep in a series matching the last two division winners. Giants RHP Matt Cain had a 6-0 lead through three innings before the D-backs went to work.

First baseman Lyle Overbay started the comeback with a two-run double in the fourth, and Overbay followed Ryan Roberts' two-run homer in the sixth with a solo homer to make it 6-5. Overbay was making his first start of the season. The Giants made two infield errors to give the D-backs the final two runs in the seventh.

"That's what we've made our team," said Overbay, who had three hits and three RBI. "That's how we did it last year. It's kind of nice. To do it against Matt Cain and the Giants is a tough task."

The D-backs also got great relief work from Wade Miley, Craig Breslow and Bryan Shaw to nail down the victory, their eighth straight against the Giants. Miley pitched four innings of hitless relief, Breslow held the lead and Shaw got his first major league save. Overbay, Miley and Breslow were making their first appearances of the season, and Shaw was in the first save situation in his career.

"That's the great part," Roberts said. "Everybody checks their egos at the door when they walk in. It's whatever you have to do to win a game. That's it. Every game is the same game. We're going to treat it like it is the seventh game of the World Series."
