Cristiano Ronaldo gets hilariously unrealistic bust as airport is named for him

If you know one thing about Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s that the Real Madrid and Portugal superstar is good at soccer. Probably as good as anyone ever who isn’t named Lionel Messi.

If you know a second thing, it’s that he’s incredible vain and narcissistic – to the point where you sometimes question his sanity.

On Wednesday, the airport in Madeira, the tiny Portuguese island off the West African coast that Ronaldo hails from, was renamed for him. And in the ceremony, a bust of him was unveiled that, well, look for yourself.

Ronaldo didn’t flinch when he saw the bust. But Twitter, of course, did.

Here are some of our favorite reactions.

The most grievous thing is that this is, in fact, the second botched Ronaldo statue, after an earlier one didn’t look anything like him, either.

But at least that one won’t haunt the undead in some parallel netherworld.
