Columbus signs Calvert for two more years

The rebuilding Columbus Blue Jackets locked up a piece of their future Tuesday, signing forward Matt Calvert to a two-year extension.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

"Matt is a dynamic young winger that plays with great tenacity at both ends of the ice and we look forward to his continued development and contributions to our hockey club," general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said in a statement.

The 23-year-old has recorded nine goals in 42 games played this season.
