Clemens' son opts for Longhorns over Astros

Kacy Clemens, the son of Roger Clemens, will play baseball for the University of Texas instead of signing with the Houston Astros.

The Astros drafted Clemens in the 35th round (No. 1,037 overall) Saturday.

"Got drafted by the Houston Astros! Pretty cool!" Clemens wrote on Twitter. "But I will still be a longhorn! Hook'em!"

Clemens went 8-0 with a 1.09 ERA this season at Memorial High School in Houston, was named to the Rawlings All-America second-team, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Roger Clemens, a seven-time Cy Young Award winner, starred at Texas in the early 1980s.

"It was great to hear his name called and always an honor to be selected," Rogers Clemens said in the Chronicle. "His sights will be set on the 'The University' to get his education and get the Horns back to Omaha!"
