Claude Patrick vs. James Head Added to Nearly Full UFC 149 Fight Card

TUF Alums Myles Jury and Mike Ricci Square Off at UFC 165 in Toronto

UFC 149 is nearly two months away, but the fight card is nearly full.

The latest addition to UFC 149 is a welterweight bout between Claude Patrick and James Head. UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday.

Patrick (14-2) is coming off the first loss of his UFC tenure. After a three-fight streak had him moving up the welterweight ladder, Patrick suffered a setback, losing a split decision to Brian Ebersole at UFC 140 late last year in Toronto.

Head (8-2) is 1-1 in the Octagon, bouncing back from a loss to Nick Ring in his UFC debut by submitting Papy Abedi last month in Sweden.

The bout will land on the preliminary portion of the UFC 149 fight card. UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo headlines the card, defending his belt against Erik Koch. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua squares off with Thiago Silva in the co-main event.
