Chip Kelly is interested in coaching college football again

Chip Kelly could be back in the college game sooner rather than later, he told Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman on Tuesday.

Two days after Kelly was fired by the San Francisco 49ers, he said he would consider a return to college football if the right opportunity presented itself.

“I evaluate all jobs individually,” he said. “I wouldn’t rule anything out.”

According to Fox Sports, several schools would contemplate a coaching change this month if Kelly would agree to be their head coach.

Kelly, 53, was 46-7 in four seasons at Oregon and led the Ducks to Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl victories and a 2010 national championship game berth. Following that contest, he left for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles where he went 26-21 in three seasons before being fired. He spent one season with 49ers and went 2-14.
