Chiefs Pick Up 24-10 Win Over Jets
The Chiefs controlled the Jets, 24-10, at home.
Alex Smith accounted for two touchdowns against the Jets on 21 of 31 passing for 199 yards and no interceptions. Michael Vick went 21 of 28 with 196 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions for the Jets.
Jamaal Charles was a key factor for the Chiefs, running all over the Jets for 78 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown while adding two receptions for 10 yards. Travis Kelce was a highlight, pulling in four balls for 67 yards with a touchdown.
The Kansas City defense was the major reason for the victory, allowing 139 yards rushing and 235 passing. They brought down Vick for three sacks.
Jets wide receiver Percy Harvin provided some spark with 129 receiving yards. Wide receiver Eric Decker also had a good game with 63 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Next week, the Chiefs travel to Orchard Park to face the Bills (5-3) while the Jets are at home against the Steelers (6-3).
