Chargers add running back Donald Brown

The San Diego Chargers have reached a three-year contract with former Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown, tehe team announced.

Brown goes back with Chargers general manager Tom Telesco to his days in the Colts' personnel department, which drafted Brown 27th overall in the first round in 2009 out of Connecticut.

The 5-10, 207-pounder has rushed for 2,377 career yards and 17 touchdowns.

Brown, 26, has averaged 4.3 yards per carry and has one career fumble.

He has 83 career receptions for 767 yards and two touchdowns.

Last season, he rushed for 537 yards and six touchdowns and caught 27 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns.

In the playoffs, Brown rushed 118 yards and onet ouchdown with five catches for 50 yards and one touchdown reception.
