Champ Bailey ruled out for Broncos
Denver Broncos Broncos veteran cornerback Champ Bailey has been ruled out for Thursday night's rematch against the Baltimore Ravens due to a sprained left foot
Bailey allowed two touchdowns to wide receiver Torrey Smith last season in an AFC divisional-round loss.
Without Bailey, Chris Harris will start in his place at left cornerback opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Harris returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown against the Ravens in December.
Bailey is a 12-time Pro Bowl cornerback who's simply not healthy enough to play at this time.
Meanwhile, the Broncos ruled out tight end Joel Dreessen and running back C.J. Anderson with knee injuries, and offensive guard Chris Kuper is doubtful with an ankle injury. Wide receiver Wes Welker (ankle), offensive tackle Ryan Clady (ankle) and defensive end Robert Ayers (Achilles) are probable.
Ravens starting tight end Ed Dickson is listed as probable, which continues positive developments with his activity level in practice and the fact that he's had no setbacks since partially tearing his right hamstring during training camp.
Backup rush outside linebacker Pernell McPhee is also probable with continued knee issues.
The Ravens have already ruled out defensive lineman Arthur Jones with an undisclosed illness.
Three players are doubtful for the Ravens: wide receiver Deonte Thompson (sprained left foot), rookie defensive tackle Brandon Williams (toe) and center Ryan Jensen (foot surgery).
