A's Cespedes day-to-day with ailing wrist

Oakland Athletics slugger Yoenis Cespedes is considered day-to-day after spraining his right wrist during Friday night's 15-inning, 5-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

He was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the eighth inning after hurting the wrist sliding into third base in the sixth.

Manager Bob Melvin told the Bay Area News Group after the game that Cespedes would be day-to-day.

Cespedes was not in the lineup on Saturday.

The Cuban rookie is batting .310 with 14 home runs 54 RBI.

He missed 22 games in May with a strained muscle in his left hand and he was sidelined in mid-June with a strained left hamstring. He was limited to designated hitting recently when he sprained his right thumb in late July.
