Cavs' Irving sits out with knee injury

Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving will miss Tuesday's road game against the Chicago Bulls due to a hyperextended right knee, the Cavaliers announced at the morning shootaround.

Irving injured the knee in practice last week before the Cavaliers left for a three-game road trip. He played in the first two games of the trip at Orlando and Miami.

"It's just one of those things that needs rest," Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said.

Irving shined at the recent All-Star Game, finishing with 15 points and four assists.

The 20-year-old guard is averaging 23.3 points, 5.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game this season. He was selected the 2011-12 Rookie of the Year after averaging 18.5 points, 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds.
