Cardinals Beaten by Panthers, 27-16, Fall in NFC Wild Card Round
Despite a decent outing for 386, the Cardinals were held in check by the Panthers, 27-16 in Charlotte. With the loss, Arizona is eliminated from the playoffs.
Ryan Lindley went 16 out of 28 for 82 yards passing, one touchdown and two picks. Cam Newton completed 18 of 32 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns, one pick and one fumble for the Panthers.
Kerwynn Williams rushed for 23 yards on 10 carries. Darren Fells snagged one ball for 1 yards with a touchdown.
The Arizona defense managed to contain the passing game, but could not slow down the rushing attack, allowing 188 yards rushing and 198 passing. They got to Newton once for a sack.
Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was impressive, racking up 123 yards rushing and one touchdown.
