Broncos sign draft picks Osweiler, Hillman

The Broncos will go to training camp with all of their draft picks under contract after quarterback Brock Osweiler and running back Ronnie Hillman agreed to terms Tuesday.

Team president John Elway announced the deals were completed.

Osweiler was the Broncos' second-round pick, a surprise selection given the courtship and landmark contract handed free agent Peyton Manning, who was a polarizing figure for scouts to evaluate after his junior season. Some felt his height and elongated release make him a sitting duck in the NFL, which seems to be shifting away from pocket passers.

Hillman, the team's third-round pick, runs with a low center of gravity and can make defenders miss in the open field. He's likely to begin the season as a backup behind Willis McGahee and possibly former first-round pick Knowshon Moreno, though Moreno's durability issues put him squarely on the chopping block.
