Broncos sign S Huff; S Moore on IR

The Denver Broncos signed veteran safety Michael Huff to their active roster and placed safety Rahim Moore on injured reserve-designated for return, the team announced Tuesday.

Moore can resume practicing with the team in six weeks (Dec. 31) and is eligible to play in eight weeks (Jan. 14).

The Broncos lost Moore with a leg injury suffered Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huff, 30, was released by the Baltimore Ravens in October. He started just one game after the Ravens signed him in the offseason.

Huff (6-0, 211) is an eighth-year player who has seen action in 115 regular-season games (94 starts) with the Oakland Raiders (2006-12) and Baltimore Ravens (2013), totaling 461 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 11 interceptions.

The Broncos also signed safety John Boyett to their practice squad Tuesday and released running back Edwin Baker.

Boyett (5-10, 203) is a rookie from the University of Oregon who was drafted by Indianapolis in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He competed with the Colts during the preseason before being waived on Sept. 3.
