MILWAUKEE -- Wily Peralta held Atlanta scoreless over seven innings and Jean Segura hit his 11th home run of the season as the Brewers beat the Braves, 2-0, Friday night at Miller Park.
Peralta (5-8) gave up just two hits and four walks with four strikeouts and held with Atlanta without a hit until the fifth inning to win for just the second time in his last nine starts.
Segura gave Peralta an insurance run in the fifth, belting a 1-1 fastball from Julio Teheran into the left-field corner to make it 2-0, Milwaukee.
Francisco Rodriguez and Jim Henderson preserved the shutout in the eighth and ninth, respectively, as Henderson converted his tenth save of the season and first since suffering a right hamstring strain on May 25.
Norichika Aoki helped spark the Milwaukee offense, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Teheran (5-4) held Milwaukee to just two runs over his 6 1/3-inning outing despite allowing eight hits. He struck out five and worked his way out of potential back-breaking innings several times.
Milwaukee loaded the bases with nobody out in the first and took a 1-0 lead on Aramis Ramirez's sac fly to right, but Carlos Gomez was picked off first and Juan Francisco popped out to third, letting Teheran off the hook.
Teheran got in trouble again when Norichika Aoki opened the third with a base hit to center and Jean Segura beat out a bunt down the third-base line to put runners at first and second with nobody out. Francisco drew a two-out walk to load the bases, but Schafer ended the inning by lining into a ground out at second base.
The Braves broke up Peralta's no-hit bid but failed to tie the game in the fifth.
B.J. Upton led off with a single up the middle and moved to second on Dan Uggla's flyout to the warning track in center. Chris Johnson singled to put runners at the corners with one out.
Teheran reached on a fielder's choice that caught Upton at home and Aoki ended the threat with a sliding grab of Andrelton Simmons' line drive to right for the third out.
NOTES: Aoki returned to the Brewers Friday. He had been on the paternity list earlier in the week while his wife gave birth to a son. INF/OF Josh Prince was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville. ... Atlanta placed INF Ramiro Pena on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder and recalled INF Paul Janish from Triple-A Gwinnett. ... Brewers RHP Donovan Hand will make his first major-league start Saturday.
