Blue Jays turn first double play since 1979

The Toronto Blue Jays turned their first triple play in 33 years in the bottom of the third inning of their 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday.

It was also the first time a Royals hitter hit into one in the same span.

Toronto first baseman Adam Lind caught a line drive, stepped on the bag to force Kansas City's Yuniesky Betancourt and threw to second base to force Alex Gordon for the third out.

The Blue Jays led 1-0 when the play occurred.
