In seven innings of work, Hernandez overmatched Jered Weaver who allowed four runs in six innings for the Angels. Seth Smith went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Mariners while the Angels got a solo home run from Mike Trout. - - - Dodgers 6, Padres 3 Shortstop Jimmy Rollins hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the eighth inning, and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a victory over the San Diego Padres. Rollins was making his Dodgers' debut, while former Dodgers Matt Kemp debuted for San Diego and went 2-for-4 and drove in all three runs for the Padres. Reigning National League MVP and Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw gave up three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts. - - - Mets 3, Nationals 1 Bartolo Colon allowed just one run in six innings and the New York Mets beat the defending East Division champion Washington Nationals.
