Astros fill out roster after Veras trade

After trading closer Jose Veras to the Detroit Tigers for outfield prospect Danry Vasquez and a player to be named later earlier in the day Monday, the Houston Astros made a series of moves to fill out their roster.

Right-handed reliever Hector Ambriz was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 29-year-old made 43 relief appearances for the Astros this season over two stints with the club.

Right-handed relievers Chia-Jen Lo and Josh Zeid were then recalled from Double-A Corpus Christi and Oklahoma City, respectively.

The 27-year-old Lo has a 3.24 ERA with six saves in 17 appearances combined between Corpus Christi, Class A Quad Cities and Class A Tri-City this season. The 26-year-old Zeid has gone 4-1 with 13 saves and a 3.50 ERA in 43 relief appearances for Oklahoma City this season.
