Andrew Luck and the offense give us hope

Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck was not perfect last night, but he was as close as he has ever been. In the Colts 41-10 romp over the Jets, he finished with 289 yards passing with four touchdowns and zero interceptions. His 79 percent completion percentage (23-29) was the best mark he has had in two years.

According to Pro Football Focus, Luck is the second rated quarterback this season behind Tom Brady. His season player rating of 91.4 would be a career high as well if the season ended today.

With Luck playing the best football of his young career, the Colts are in position to make a playoff run. After the win last night the Colts moved into a three way tie with the Titans and Texans.

Luckily for the Colts the own the tiebreaker with the Titans as they swept the season series.

Granted the Colts did hang 41 points on a porous Jets defense. But the fact of the matter is that this offense clicked last night. On every level.

The offensive line is slowly turning around. The youth on the offensive line still has a lot of room for improvement. However, the core set with Anthony Castonzo, Jack Mewhort, Ryan Kelly and Joe Haeg is a solid foundation to build upon.

As for the weapons surrounding Luck, they finally showed up. Dwayne Allen set a career high with three touchdown catches. The best game Allen has had since his rookie season.

T.Y. Hilton showed himself to be a true number one receiver yet again as he went over 1,000 yards for the fourth straight season. Putting him an Colts lore with Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne as the only Colts players to have 1,000 plus yards in four straight seasons.

Donte Moncrief caught a touchdown in his fifth straight game. Making him the first Colts since Reggie Wayne in 2009 to catch a touchdown in five straight.

This offense has the chance to special. We have been saying that for two years now. But it all starts with Luck and trickles down.

And for whatever reason that came together last night in one of their best games in years.
