76ers open season at home vs. Heat

The Philadelphia 76ers will open the 2013-14 NBA season at home against the two-time defending champion Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The Sixers play their road opener at the Washington Wizards on Nov. 1 before returning to Philadelphia the next day to kick off a four-game home stand at the Wells Fargo Center against the Chicago Bulls. They'll also play Golden State, Washington and Cleveland on the home stand.

Other key dates include:

--Nov. 29 vs. New Orleans: Jrue Holiday, traded on draft day, returns to town with the New Orleans Pelicans.

--Dec. 9 vs. L.A. Clippers: All-Stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin make their only visit to Philadelphia.

--Jan. 1 at Denver: The Sixers kick off the New Year at the Nuggets.

--Jan. 11 vs. New York: The Sixers and Knicks meet for the first time in the season and for the 430th time overall.

--Jan. 17 vs. Miami: Reigning MVP LeBron James makes his second and final appearance of the season in Philadelphia.

--Jan. 25 vs. Oklahoma: All-Stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook make their only visit of the regular season.

--Feb. 7 vs. L.A. Lakers: One of the NBA's classic rivalries continues when the Lakers make their lone trip to Wells Fargo Center.

--March 21 vs. New York: League scoring champ Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks close out the season series against the Sixers.

--April 5 vs. Brooklyn: Rookie head coach Jason Kidd and the Nets take on the Sixers for their fourth and final regular-season matchup.

--April 16 at Miami: The Sixers close out the regular season in South Florida.
