49ers reduce roster to 75
The 49ers designated rookie running back Jewel Hampton for the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List and linebacker Darius Fleming to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List.
The players are exempt from the 49ers active roster, which was reduced to 75 on Monday, and will not be eligible to practice until at least the Tuesday following the completion of Week Six (Oct. 16) of the NFL schedule.
The team also waived the following 12 players: fullback Cameron Bell, outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown, defensive tackle Patrick Butrym, wide receiver Ben Hannula, wide receiver Joe Hastings, defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo, cornerback Cory Nelms, cornerback Deante' Purvis, tight end Joe Sawyer, offensive lineman Jason Slowey, kicker Giorgio Tavecchio and wide receiver Brian Tyms.
Teams must reduce their rosters to the regular-season limit of 53 on Friday by 9 p.m. ET and can establish a practice squad beginning Sept. 1.
